Hello!
I am so happy to be teaching Transitional this year! My son was a member of the Transitional class of
2002/2003 when he was a student here. As
a parent, I truly understand and value the gift of time and remember dearly
what a special year that was. I hope to
create that same special experience for your children.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Fitchburg State University and am RETELL certified by the State of Massachusetts (that's a fancy way of saying that I am certified to have English Language Learners in class).
I am a Littleton resident and have been teaching at Shaker
Lane for several years.
Previously to teaching in Littleton, I worked with special education
students in Virginia.
My husband, Joe, and I have two children and one cuddly
cat. Our daughter is a nursing student
at Westfield State University and my son recently graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School and works in the field of automotive refinishing and collision repair. It
seems like they were at Shaker Lane just a few months ago, so I’m not sure
where the time went!
I know the decision to send your child to Transitional was
not an easy one. As a parent, I also
struggled with placement decisions. My
own daughter was recommended for Transitional, but the class was too full to
accept her. She ultimately repeated 2nd
grade. I wish there had been more
room! My son was recommended to repeat
Kindergarten, but he was alternatively placed in Transitional. What a wonderful year! I know these decisions are hard to make, but
I will work very hard to earn your trust, form a loving community of learners,
and to communicate in an open manner. We
are all partners in education and working towards the same goal.
I can be reached via email at kharte@littletonps.org or by phone at

I look forward to a wonderful year!
